Is there a difference in quality for whey vs soy protein powder?

I am currently a vegetarian trying to turn vegan but I use whey protein powder after workouts. Is there a difference between soy and whey that will greatly affect by progress if I switch?

There are some small differences between soy and whey protein powder. Because whey is a complete protein, it has a much quicker absorption rate that its soy counterpart. This means that it can get into the muscle more quickly to begin repairing and rebuilding of the torn tissue. This also helps to reduce DOMS, delayed onset muscle soreness, or eliminate it completely.

Soy protein also has a different taste than whey and can take some getting used to when switching after being used to whey.
