Diet and Nutrition

The South Beach Diet works in three stages. The first stage is intended to eliminate cravings by eliminating carbohydrates from your diet, which includes whole grains and fruits. This phase will stabilize blood sugar levels and jumpstart your weight loss. You are able to enjoy lean proteins, low fat dairy, high fiber vegetables, eggs, and healthy fats so you won’t feel hungry or deprived. Phase two is the long term weight loss phase of the program where “good” or complex carbohydrates slowly become reintroduced into your meals. Examples include whole grain pasta. Bread, and rice, fruits, and starchy vegetables like sweet potatoes. The third phase is the maintenance phase where you continue making smart food choices and following the principles that you learned in the previous two phases.

Fitness & Exercise

With your membership you have access to the South Beach Diet Fitness Club which provides a complete fitness routine which emphasizes muscle strengthening, cardio, and flexibility training. You will have access to many ‘how to’ videos which will teach you the proper technique and form to perform the exercises in your total body workout.  You will focus on strengthening your core, tone your arms and legs, increase your flexibility, and develop your balance, posture, and coordination. On alternate days, you are also to perform cardiovascular activity in the form of interval walking. This will help you boost your metabolism and burn the most amount of fat possible.


The South Beach Diet is a physician approved method of weight loss which is backed by support from the medical community.
